The long contentious relationship between Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club members and developer WCI Communities is over. Effective as of January 1, 2009, Gulf Harbour residents will self-mange the 1,100 member country club. There have been concerns about the fate of WCI Communities as it passes through the bankruptcy process.
The belief is that the self-managed environment will allow for significantly more of the club dues to be re-invested back into the club and facilities. Gulf Harbour continues to be one of the finest communities in Southwest Florida. This transfer of ownership is a very positive step for the community.
